NOPI Sport Compact by NHRA

NHRA has announced that in 2008, will combine forces with NOPI to sanction sport compact drag racing events at NOPI events. The new sport compact race series will be called NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA. NOPI and NHRA will develop classes to ensure that all cars that competed in the NHRA in 2007 will have a place to race in the NOPI Drag Racing Series sanctioned by NHRA in 2008.
To me, it is all very clear. There is no NHRA Sport Compact Drag Racing Series anymore, it is just going to be a single series run by NOPI and sanctioned by the NHRA (aka putting the NHRA name on it to make everyone feel better).

I was afraid this was going to happen when Wally died. He was one of the very few inside the NHRA that liked the Sport Compact series. This is the perfect way for the NHRA to say they still care about us but not have to spend the money on the series. I feel bad for those inside the NHRA that did care about us because they might be out of a job today.

Le llego la hora cero a la NHRA Sport Compact en el 2008 seran parte de NOPI ya se venia ver el fracaso de las carreras desde que reclutaron los responsables del fracaso ( J O y J P ) se veia venir luego la decercion de muchos corredores, el discrimen contra los boricuas ETC y las trampitas que ya sabemos pues esperemos que la afiliacion a NOPI no los contagien. pendientes al programa el sabado pues hablaremos de esta union o mejor dicho movida savia de NHRA Sport Compact.
